We are currently looking for a Social Media expert for our offices in Brussels.
Your main duties will be to:
- Social media content planning and creation for social media accounts in coordination with relevant operational units and in line with internal social media procedures and involving multiple departments, building, and maintaining a distribution network on various social media platforms
- Social media community management including interactions with users of social media platforms responding to their questions, direct messages, and suggestions in line with corporate objectives and priorities
- Providing graphic design support to the social media team and social media visuals creation, mainly on Canva
- Ensuring continuous participation in online conversations and acting as a mediator
- Identifying threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the contracting authority’s brand and reporting it to internal stakeholders
- Closely collaborating with internal teams (web, audiovisual) to design and implement social media strategies across social media platforms
- Regular social media performance monitoring and evaluation of activities using e.g. Socialbakers, Talkwalker, Twitter analytics or Facebook/Instagram insights
- Establishing short-term and long-term KPIs for social media advertising (both paid and organic) and developing campaign reporting schedules
- Setting up, implementing and optimizing social media advertising campaigns
- Gathering, analysing, and interpreting social media data, using the analytics tools providing insights optimizing social media strategies
- Providing both regular and ad hoc reporting, analysis, and insights on social media behavior, social media advertising opportunities, and social media campaigns’ performance
- Analyzing key trends in relevant content and activity
- Evaluating the Impact of social media initiatives
- Evaluating the outcome of social media testing
- Planning, implementing and following up on large-scale social media campaigns such as ‘European Week of Sport’, often with the involvement of an external contractor
- Organisation and implementation of social media live coverage of events
- Assistance and advice to policy Units on social media matters, including helping units with social media strategies per campaign/events, etc, contributing to requests for service for social media activities, giving feedback on social media proposals from contractors
- Ensuring that only high-quality social media content is posted on social media channels
- Liaising for multiplication purposes of topics and communication messages
- Contributing to briefings on request, for example, for the Director General by drafting a tweet and providing Twitter handles
- Creating social media content for the Commissioner and Director General’s social media accounts on weekly basis
- Identifying and implementing engaging social media opportunities, for example, linking to international days, etc.
- Supporting other social media team members.
If you have:
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Social media content (engaging and valuable) creation
- Social media analytics and reporting
- Understanding social media advertising/digital marketing
- Social media trend awareness
- Excellent English skills, both oral and written
- Excellent drafting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
- The ability to work with others
- Experience of 2 years of working on and managing social media projects/campaigns, including planning, coordinating, etc

- Experience from the public sector, especially in the policy areas of research, sport, youth, education or culture
