About the job

In the role of Plant-Based Quality & Food Safety (QFS) in Compliance Manager, you’re responsible for managing and coordinating the QFS regulatory compliance activities within the PB QFS organization. In a fast changing innovative business environment, assuring the Quality & Food Safety (QFS) regulatory compliance of our plant-based (PB) activities and products is key in satisfying and complying to authorities’, consumers’ & customers’ expectations. You report to the International Quality Director and work from our Plant in Wevelgem.


About the job:


Your responsibilities are:


  • QFS regulation follow-up, implementation & change management on following assigned topics: food safety & hygiene, chemical contaminants, pesticides & chemicals, organic, food contact materials, GMO, nanotechnology, food safety & nutrition labelling tolerances, metrology

  • Internal advisory role with regards to questions & complaints (authorities, consumer, customer, consumer organisations, bad press, …) in the assigned topics including support in communication

  • Food Safety & Risk anticipation including identifying emerging risks, support FS Governance with focus on risk identification & regulatory compliance and coordinate review food fraud vulnerability assessment on raw materials

  • Governance of surveillance testing (nutrients, GMO, chemical contaminants, …) & support troubleshooting & root cause analysis by providing expert inputs related to analytical testing

  • Governance of quality related claims on artworks & provide inputs for artwork approvals

  • Support audits (surveillance plan, packaging regulatory approval, regulatory network, food fraud)

About you
  • You have a master university degree (preferably Bio-Engineer or Regulatory) & you show a strong interest in the food industry & food regulations
  • Min. 5 years of experience in similar Quality & Food Safety role in the food industry or life sciences
  • Knowledge/experience in product life cycle management in food industry
  • Your excellent interpersonal and influencing skills enable you to connect with different types of people/cultures (e.g. stakeholders R&I, QFS, Operations, GS/Regulatory, Marketing)
  • You are a problem solver & real team player who is driven to go for results
  • You combine an analytical mindset with a quality and customer minded attitude
  • You have an autonomous, pro-active approach with a can do attitude
  • Proficiency with SAP, PLM or similar systems
  • You speak & write fluent English. Dutch and/or French is a plus
